- My Machine is an A2000 with a 33Mhz 040. Your Statement (D.Corn) concerning
- the need for an 060/50 to equal a 6100/60 is a littli bit off. Speedometer
- 4.0 results follow.
-
- Test A2000/040/Retina/Emplant 6100/60/68KEmulation 6100/60/Native
-
- CPU 1.15 0.52 3.13
- Disk 1.90 1.74 1.70
- Math 24.20 13.38 107.33
- PR 1.73 2.25 .92
-
- My lowly 10 year old machine is faster in almost all catagories than a
- 6100/60
- in Emulation mode, my graphics are about 50% lower in 8/16 bit mode. Most
- software will be 68K/PPC for some time (over 60% of the installed Mac base
- are still 68K machines). Granted my system is a bit dated my Mac Emulator
- is only running Mac OS7.5.2. So I'm a little behind.:).For the vast
- majority of HOME applications this speed is good enough.
- Doom/DoomII/Marathon/MarathonII/XWing/Rebel Assault run pretty well.I
- Imagine when I get a PPC 604 for my A3000 those speeds will increase at
- least a little bit. By the way, I do run Word/Excel/ and a couple of
- microwave design packages without much trouble. Cut us a little slack will
- you? Lets see what Escom/AT are doing this time next year. Maybe Mac OS
- 8.0.X and Windows 95/96/97 will be out by then.:) See ya later.

- If this program is so damned important........
- How did we get it?????????.
